Independent Living Programs

The CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangements) and CSLA (Community Supported Living Arrangements) programs help adults with epilepsy and other developmental disabilities to become more self-sufficient, develop independence in daily living, and become more fully integrated into the community. Our program is an intermittent CILA rather than a group home. Members of our program live in their own apartments and receive intensive case management.

Case managers work individually with participants to assist them with making and keeping medical appointments, obtaining transportation to and from appointments, connecting with community services and recreational activities, and meeting the goals of their Individual Service Plans. Opportunities are also provided for group social and recreational activities that make the CILA and CSLA community a supportive and close-knit group of people.

We offer CILA only in Rockford, IL, but other CILAs are available in other areas. Whether you are looking for an intermittent CILA or a 24-hour CILA, it is important to research options in your area and contact the agencies that offer them. Most CILAs have waiting lists, so getting into one can be a lengthly process.

In Rockford, the point of entry into the CILA system is Access Services. Or, for more information specifically about our program, contact Dan Cunningham.
