While the majority of people with epilepsy can achieve good seizure control with available treatments, their unemployment rate remains several times the national average. The annual economic burden of epilepsy in the United States is $15.5 million, of which 80% is attributable to lost wages, underemployment and unemployment of people with epilepsy.
